The Tibet Travel Permit (TTP) and Alien Travel Permit (PSB permit) are the official documents that allow foreign travelers to enter the Tibet Autonomous Region and permit travel to certain other regions of Tibet. We can arrange Tibet Travel Permits to the TAR and to travel beyond into areas that require the Alien Travel Permit (PSB permit) and Military Permit.
Tibet Travel Permits 2024
All of the foreign travelers coming to Tibet need a Tibet Travel Permit to enter the TAR. Tibet Travel permit (TTP) can only be issued in the Tibet Tourism Bureau in Lhasa. Foreigners can’t obtain it directly, they can only obtain one through travel agencies in Tibet or Lhasa. In order to obtain this permit, you must have a fully booked tour during your stay inside of the Tibet Autonomous Region. High quality scanned copies of your passport and current China visa are also required in order for us to apply for these documents.
Note: You must apply for a valid Chinese visa through an embassy or consulate in your home country. It’s important not to mention “Tibet” on your visa application form (state anything else such as Beijing or Shanghai).
You will need to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit at least 15-20 days before your trip to China to prepare all the information and necessary documents to obtain your permit. Once we received the documents and your deposit, we can issue your Tibet Travel Permit right away.
Please note what type of visa you have and provide us with any additional information we may need.
Tourist (L) visa requires no extra documentation.
Work (Z) visas require that you also send us a copy of your work permit and an official letter from your company.
Business (F) visas require that you provide a letter from your company or school with this visa.
